We appreciate the patience of our customers as our crews worked through the night to restore service.

Though they will continue working until all are customers are restored, this will be the last regular update for this outage event.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE - 1:00PM

Here is an update on the power outage situation following a strong storm system that moved through the area Tuesday evening:

At its peak, approximately 12,000 customers were without power. Our crews worked through the night and that number is now down to 425.

There are still five power lines confirmed down and one pole that requires replacement.

If you are without power and have not reported it, please call 256-53-LIGHT (256-535-4448).

We appreciate the patience of our customers as our crews have worked to restore service. They will continue to do so until all power is restored.

Customers Without Power: 920

Lines Down: 7

Poles Damaged: 1

Also, please be advised that there is still a threat of strong storms from now until 9pm (according to US National Weather Service Huntsville Alabama).

If you see a downed power line, do not approach or attempt to drive over it. Call us immediately at 256-53-LIGHT (256-535-4448).

Here are the latest statistics as of 9:00am Wednesday:

Total customers without power: 2,275

Lines down: 9

Lines low but not down: 2

Poles down: 1

Keep in mind the numbers for lines and poles only refer to those that have been confirmed. There may be others down that have yet to be reported.

At the peak, 12,000 customers were without power. Our crews worked through the night to restore approximately 10,000 customers and will continue to do so until all are restored.

While we appreciate your patience, we also sympathize with those of you who are still without power. The nature of these outages--the majority of which are caused by limbs and trees on lines--make the restoration process a long one, but our crews are working as quickly as is safely possible.
