Energy Services
Energy Services Inquiry
As department has grown to better serve our community. In 2019 we began to work with Project Share to include energy efficient retro-fits. This program has allowed our low-income or disabled members of the community to reduce their energy consumption and help them to avoid the high usage bills caused by inefficient appliances or climate control systems.
The Huntsville Utilities New Homes Program provides a means by which a plan for energy efficiency may be developed before construction even begins. The program certifies new construction for compliance to the State of Alabama Energy Code.
Includes: Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index, blower door testing, duct blaster testing, thermal bypass inspections, and energy usage estimates.
