Pole Attachments

Huntsville Utilities allows for attachments to our poles under certain conditions. 
Note that some poles in the Huntsville Utilities service area are owned by other entities such as AT&T, in which case the pole owner would need to be contacted for permission.  As poles are most often located in the right of way, the applicable government entity may also require a permit, franchise, or other form of permission.  

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) regulates the rates charged for pole attachments so that the cost of pole attachments is not subsidized by electric rate payers.  

All pole attachments must be maintained according to the Pole Attachment Construction Specifications.

Entities desiring to attach to Huntsville Utilities poles must execute a Pole Attachment Agreement. This form can be submitted to HUPoleAttachments@hsvutil.org 

Entities with an active Pole Attachment Agreement may apply for new attachments or modify existing attachments using the Pole Attachment Permit Procedure.
