Huntsville Utilities has an extensive--and growing--fiber network across its service area.  This fiber is used to connect our facilities and equipment for our own internal operations.  Although we do not provide communications services, we do lease dark fiber where we have excess fiber capacity.  We also have agreements with other government agencies within our service area to use some of the fiber strands.
