Electric Temporary Pole Power

Contractors or others often require the use of temporary power, usually while performing construction until the structure is built, inspected, and approved for connection of permanent power.  Generally, power can be made available from existing nearby power lines so that the only cost is for a temporary power pole and electric consumption.  In some cases, temporary lines may need to be constructed resulting in additional fees.

Requirements for temporary power:

  1. Temporary Power Pole, supplied either by the customer (CTPL) or rented from Huntsville Utilities (UTPL)
  2. The party responsible for the electric bill must apply for service and establish an account
  3. Temporary Power Poles are only to be used for temporary power, and not to provide service to a permanent structure.
  4. If no power source is available, Engineering will provide a quote to build temporary facilities that will be removed after use
