Extreme Heat Expected This Week!
☀️HEAT ADVISORY!☀️
According to US National Weather Service Huntsville Alabama, a heat advisory will be in effect from noon until 6pm today, with heat indexes expected around 106. Hot temperatures are expected throughout the week, so please keep the following in mind:
--Don't leave kids or pets in vehicles.
--Drink plenty of water.
--Dress in light colored, loose fitting clothing.
--Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
Control your energy usage and costs with the following tips:
--Ensure your HVAC system is serviced and cleaned (including filters).
--Use ceiling fans and ensure the blades are spinning in the proper direction (counterclockwise).
--Close blinds and use darkening curtains (blackout curtains or blackout panels).
--If your home will be empty during the day, bump up your thermostat a few degrees so it isn't cooling an empty house.
