Here is the latest from US National Weather Service Huntsville Alabama regarding today's risk of severe weather:
All of north Alabama has been placed in a "slight" risk (level two of five) for severe storms.
The primary risks are damaging winds, up to quarter sized hail, and flash flooding.
The time window for the system is midday today through the early evening hours.
Huntsville Utilities is closely monitoring the weather situation and has crews standing by to respond to any service issues.
If you see a downed power line, do not approach or attempt to drive over it. Stay away and call us immediately at 256-53-LIGHT (256-535-4448). This is also the number to call to report a power outage.
