Scam Alert - New Tactic Reported
We've been made aware of a new tactic scammers are using in their attempts to take your money.
Scammers are directing their targets to a link on a fake website. Once they get to this link, they try to get the target to send them money from their bank account using Zelle.
DO NOT DO THIS! IT PUTS YOUR MONEY AND YOUR PERSONAL BANKING INFORMATION AT RISK!
Huntsville Utilities DOES NOT ACCEPT payment via Zelle. The only way you can pay your bill through a website is through the My Account feature of www.hsvutil.org.
If you receive such a call, JUST HANG UP!
If you think you've been the victim of a scam, contact local law enforcement and your financial institutions immediately!
