Weather Alert for Tuesday - September 12, 2023
The National Weather Service in Huntsville has placed the eastern portion of the Huntsville Utilities service area under a marginal risk (level one of five) for severe weather this afternoon/evening.
The main risks with this storm system are frequent lightning, gusty to damaging winds, and small hail, and the timing window for our area is between 4pm and 7pm.
Remember:
--If you see a downed power line, do not approach it or attempt to drive over it.
--If you see limbs or other debris on a power line, do not attempt to remove it.
In either of the above situations, call us immediately at 256-53-LIGHT (256-535-4448). This is also the number to call to report a power outage.
We are closely monitoring the weather situation and are standing by to respond to any service issues. Customers are advised to monitor local media and the National Weather Service website (weather.gov/hun) for updates throughout the day on this developing weather situation.
