Storm Potential for Sunday - August 27, 2023

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has placed our area under a marginal risk (level one of five) for strong to severe storms today. 

Hazards include gusty to damaging winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall, and the timing for the storm system is noon to 7pm.

Huntsville Utilities is closely monitoring the weather and is standing by to respond to any service issues.

If you see a downed power line, do not approach it or drive over it. Also, do not attempt to remove debris from power lines. Call us immediately at 256-53-LIGHT (256-535-4448). 

This is also the number to call to report a power outage.

Customers are advised to monitor local media and the National Weather Service website (weather.gov/hun) throughout the day for updates on this developing weather situation.
