Weather Alert For Thursday (June 29, 2023)

DANGEROUS HEAT AND STORM THREAT FOR THURSDAY - JUNE 29, 2023

The US National Weather Service in Huntsville is forecasting dangerous heat over the next few days, beginning with today.

An Excessing Heat Warning has been issued through tomorrow for heat indices between 110-115.

In addition, there is a 15-30% chance of strong to severe storms through Saturday.

This significant heat means customers will be using more energy than normal. In order to keep that usage (and overall energy cost) under control, you can:

Use fans (ceiling fans should spin counter-clockwise)
Close curtains/blinds on windows facing the sun
Set your thermostat for as high a temperature as is comfortable--DO NOT set it so high that it risks your health!
Keep outer doors closed as much as possible
Make sure your air conditioner filters are clean--change them if they aren't.
