On April 22, 2023, Huntsville Utilities had its inaugural HU Impact Day at Lynn Fanning Elementary School.

Several Huntsville Utilities Employees and their family members met at the school at 8:30am to do landscaping work on the school grounds. 

It is part of the company's continued efforts to give back to the community. 

"We aren't just a company that does business here," said Todd Long, Electronic Content Administrator for Huntsville Utilities. "We live here, raise our families here, and take pride in living here. We don't just power the community, we want to give back, too."  

The company plans on holding future HU Impact Days every Spring.

Special thanks to Reseda Nursery & Stone, Smith General Store, and Commercial Landscape Services for donating the materials needed for the project, and to Biscuit Express of Meridianville for bringing breakfast to the volunteers.
