Huntsville Utilities Responds To Mutual Aid Request From Florida Following Hurricane Ian

HUNTSVILLE UTILITIES RESPONDS TO MUTUAL AID REQUEST IN FLORIDA
Wednesday – September 28, 2022 – 2:00pm

In response to a mutual aid request from the Orlando Utilities Commission in Orlando, FL, Huntsville Utilities is sending Electric Operations personnel and equipment to assist with repairs and power restoration following Hurricane Ian.

Eight Huntsville Utilities line workers will make the trip to Florida, though their exact destination and departure time have yet to be determined.  

As part of the American Public Power Association’s Mutual Aid Network, Huntsville Utilities responds to requests for assistance from other municipal utilities to help restore power after natural disasters and other catastrophic events.  

Huntsville Utilities has also released four contractor crews from Sparks Energy, Inc., to assist with restoration.
